Here is a quick interview with Scott Fish.
1. When and why did you start playing/composing?

2. Which instruments do you play?
I’m a guitarist.
3. What was the first tune(s) you learned?
Can’t remember at all. Maybe the alphabet song?
4. Is your family musical?
I seem to be the only one.
5. Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
I’ve been listening to a lot of St. Vincent recently so maybe her? Also Sly and the Family Stone recently.
6. Which famous musicians have you learned from?
I guess all the good ones?
7. Who was your first teacher? Other teachers?
Too many good teachers to count. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a lot of older musicians placed in my path who helped guide me.
8. Describe your first instrument. Other instruments.
It’s red with 6 strings. Also staff paper.
9. What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood or town?
I have no musical memories. I have no memories at all come to think of it. My one memory is disliking the movie Memento. Ok real answer- I remember hearing Jimi Hendrix and Xenakis on the same day when I was kid. I have no idea what the context was but it’s pretty mind-blowing when you’re 7.
10. Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?
Out to Lunch by Eric Dolphy is my biggest influence.
